LanShutDown is a FREE program which lets you shutdown, restart, log off any computer on your network, but the primary requirement to perform these actions remotely is you need to have administrative privileges.

You can run this tool and shutdown any computer running windows 2000, XP or 2003. The program package includes two console programs with which you can use LanShutDown tool from command line also. With the command line version of this tool you can automate the shutdown and reboot of your computer

It will automatically detect all the computers connected to your network with their IP address and names. You can also forcefully terminate the applications running on the remote computer which you want to shutdown.

1. Open command prompt and type shutdown –i and press Enter
2. Add the computer or computers on your network with their IP address to shutdown, restart, log off and set the display warning time in seconds and comment you want to give when shutdown warning message appears.

3. Press OK button

DomainResolver is small free to use tool which lets you find the IP address of any website on web with its domain name. You just need to type in the domain name and press the resolve button at the bottom of the application to get the IP address of the website.

After a long time a good proxy software has forced me to write about proxy related stuff, this one is called UltraSurf which is best tunnelling software I have used till now.
Previously I had written about JAP which is again a good tunnelling software to access blocked sites but has some connectivity issues some times when connecting to proxy servers and little bit slow at the same time.

A lot of people here in india and in other countries has become so addictive to orkut that they have become so curious to know every minute whether did they receive any new scrap.
So What is the Problem ?
The main problem that now a days orkut has been banned in many of the corporate offices and other institutions due to which people are not able to access orkut.
So people use various proxies like..

“So today i am going to tell how we can access orkut with proxy but without using any of the above proxy servers”

In order to access blocked or restricted orkut without using any proxy servers you need a proxy or anonymous program like JAP(JAP — ANONYMITY & PRIVACY).
How JAP Works ?
It acts as a local proxy between the browser and the insecure Internet. All web pages requested by the browser go directly to JAP, and are multiply encrypted and request goes through a mix cascade being formed by the user itself.
Note: In short it makes your system to act as a proxy server for you.

How To Do Use JAP to Access Orkut:

1. Firstly download JAP from here and install it.
2. Disable the windows firewall Control Panel>>Windows Firewall (Select the OFF option to disable the firewall ) or disable any other firewall if installed on your system.
Note: If you don’t have any firewall ignore the step 2.
3. Start JAP and Complete Start Up wizard by first selecting the language.
3.1 Now click next and select the green option among the radio buttons in the next two upcoming screens.
3.2 Now just click next and next to simply end the wizard.
4. Configuring your browsers
4.1 For Internet Explorer
a) In Menu Bar of IE, Go To Tools>Internet Options and click the Connections Tab.
b) Click Lan Settings and Select the Check box which says “Use a Proxy server for your Lan” and Enter the follwing info in the boxes.
c) Address: 127.0.0.1 , Port: 4001
d) Click ok.
4.2 For Firefox
a)Go to the menu bar “Tools”, choose the submenu “Options”. The settings window will open. Choose the “Advanced” category and then the tab “Network”
b) To change the proxy server, click on the “Settings…” button. In the new window that opens, choose “Manual proxy configuration”. Activate “Use this proxy server for all protocols” and enter “127.0.0.1″ as the server and “4001″ as the port (without the quotation marks).
c) Click ok.
5. On the JAP Interface Click on the Services Drop Box.(As shown in the image below).
Note: This software allows to you to use Mix Cascades both ways by paying money and for free also so Don’t select cascades with cost as they will ask for money.

So Select any of the network in the Mix cascades without costs or Single Mixes and check the connectivity status(As shown Below the anonymity meter should be above ok or above it and if it is not try other network from the list).

6. Thats it. Done!
Now Open the Browser(IE Or FireFox) which you have configured previously and access orkut by simply entering the url www.orkut.com and it will be accessible with complete functionality .

Today we will share a simple trick which can make your drive contents invisible including all files and folders and will also make your drive write protected so that no one can add further files on your pen drive.

The whole process of hiding files and folders on your drive involves the use of a small third party program which is free to use, and a small command you need to run from command prompt.
Let’s discuss the trick, I hope you like this trick of hiding contents on your USB Drive.

1. Put some data on the USB Pen drive.
2. Download a small executable program called lockngo (Demo Version) from here.
3. Copy lockngo.exe to your USB pen drive.

4. Double click lockngo.exe and press Lock button.

5. After clicking the Lock button, it will display a small message saying please wait until the hiding of drive contents is complete, time taken will depend on the size of the files and folder on the drive.

6. After the locking is complete, it will automatically open your drive with a single file lockngo.exe on it.
7. Now, open Start Menu >> Run, type cmd and press Ok.
8. Type the following commands to hide the lockngo.exe file
8.1 Type the drive letter in the following format and press Enter Key
For example J: and press Enter Key ( assuming the drive letter of your USB pen drive is J )
8.2 Type the following command to hide lockngo.exe
attrib +s +h +r lockngo.exe

Note: Above command make the last file lockngo.exe as system+hidden+read only file which by default in any windows system is invisible even if show hidden files and folders is checked.
But make sure that under File menu, Tools >> Folder options >> View tab, hide protected operating system files (Recommended) is checked.

9. That’s it, Browse your pen drive you will see it empty with no files visible and it will also make your drive write protected means no one can add more files on your drive.

How To Unlock All Drive Contents

When ever you want to un hide the files on your drive, run the following commands on command prompt.
attrib –s –h -r and double click lockngo.exe again to show all the hidden files and folders on your drive.

Many of my friends have movies copied from cd or dvd’s as image files as img, iso and nrg images, so in order to play the movie inside these images files we use several image mounting tools which lets you mount these images on the virtual drive or other hand some people burn these images to cd and dvd discs

Today, we will tell you a simple trick which lets you play these images itself directly in the VLC player.

In order to play these image files directly on VLC player, you simply need to right click on the image file and select open with >> choose program and choose VLC Player in the list of programs.

I have been searching for a way to figure out how can I block a website to in the browsing history, Finally I found a cool free add on called HistoryBlock which lets you hide some specific website you visit. You can block more than one website with this add on permanently with this small firefox extension

Alternately you can hide any page from your history simply by right clicking and select “Block This” from the context menu. You can either add domain, sub domain or the current page to the hiding black list after installing HistoryBlock
In order to add a host or website to the blocking list in history, Open Firefox and go to File Menu >> Tools at the top of the window and click add ons
